The productive partner

The Agricultural Cooperative of Stavies was founded in 1946 with Ministerial Decision No. 26403/11-3-1946 of the Ministry of Agriculture. Today, it consists of 73 members who cultivate around 3,000 acres of land. They cultivate olive trees for oil production, having extensive experience and knowledge in this specific cultivation. They have implemented their own program to combat the olive fruit fly (Dacus) after continuous failures of the program implemented by the Heraklion Plant Protection Directorate.

The Agricultural Cooperative of Stavies has the olive groves for the pilot implementation of the Operational Plan. It will undertake pest control activities, namely trapping and the execution of bait spraying in its olive groves.
